FHSS Internship Grants

Welcome

Through generous donations of alumni and friends, the Family, Home, and Social Sciences College (FHSS) supports current undergraduate students participating in internship experiences for credit.
NOTE: You must be a declared major in FHSS to be considered for funding. Students involved in field study or research experiences in collaboration with or under the direction of BYU faculty are not eligible for an internship grant.

Eligibility

You are currently a Declared major in the College of Family, Home, and Social Sciences.

You are Registered for at least 3 credits of internship coursework (granted by a department in FHSS), to be completed concurrent with the internship.

You have already been accepted to a professionally supervised internship that is one term or more in duration.

You commit to write a report, after finishing your internship, which includes photos of you at your internship. Submit this report at socialsciences.byu.edu/student-report.

Grant award decisions will be made based on demonstrated financial need. Eligibility will be verified before any funding is awarded. You will be required to certify with your signature that you have fulfilled these requirements.

If You Are Awarded an Internship Grant

Approximately two weeks before the semester begins, you will receive an email from the FHSS Dean's Office notifying you whether you have received a grant. Grant awards will be credited to your University account within two weeks of the beginning of the semester/term in which you begin the internship. You must complete the internship designated on your application and remain enrolled for internship course credit during the period of the internship.

If you withdraw from your internship or drop the internship class, immediately contact Lisa_Peck@byu.edu.
